A workforce community built for you.

You don’t have to figure out your next career step alone.

Joynr is for the parts of a career you have to get through. Starting out. Getting stuck. Changing direction. Losing the job. Working out what’s next.

find your people. get back to work.

The Joynr community

Whatever part of your career you are in, your people are here.

These are all normal phases in a career. Not one of them should have to be handled alone.

Laid off

The ground moved.

The job, the routine and a piece of how you describe yourself, gone in a fifteen minute meeting.

Stuck

Ready to go.

Employed but going nowhere, and needing the honest read your manager can’t seem to give you.

Pivoting

A new path should be exciting.

Changing industries, roles or levels. What you already know still counts, and the work is getting people to see it.

Starting out

You’ve got a head start.

Most people do the internship and the first job hunt on their own. You’ll be doing it with career professionals in your corner, people who have hired for the roles you want.

Aiming higher

You want the next rung.

A promotion, a bigger title, a harder problem. Working out who actually decides, and what they want to see, takes longer than the work itself.

Been through it

And wanting to give back.

You already did what everybody else here is trying to do. You know which advice worked and which just cost you time.

The types of Joynrs

At Joynr, nobody is assigned to you, but you are not alone.

There’s no algorithm deciding who belongs in your corner. You read the room, find somebody you click with, and start talking. You ask for help. You give some back.

You decide who stays in your corner.

Joynr puts you in the room with four types of people.

Beside you

A peer

Someone roughly where you are. Same level, same problem, working it out at the same time. You’ll find them in the forums and in group chat, and you can have as many as you want.

In your corner

A buddy

Someone who checks in on you, cheers you on, and keeps you going. You’ll find one in the buddy room, where everybody there is looking for the same thing.

Been there

A mentor

Career-experienced, and volunteering to mentor. They’re the helpers, and they want to see you get there.

Trained for it

A coach

A credentialed professional running rooms and group sessions, trained to help you work out what to do next.

What to do at Joynr

The whole thing runs on conversation.

This is where you find your peers, your buddy, your mentor, or your coach. Here’s what people actually do here.

Forums

Ask the question you’d never put on LinkedIn. Say what actually happened. Get an honest answer back.

Group chat and DMs

Move from the room to the two or three people you want to keep talking to.

The buddy room

Find a buddy. Be a buddy. The search is easier with a buddy.

Accountability

Nobody enjoys being held to something. It’s also the thing that gets people moving. Here, somebody knows what you said you’d do.

Mentors and their rooms

People who’ve already done it, talking where you can reach them directly.

Joynr LIVE

Scheduled sessions where mentors and coaches present, and members actually get to ask things.

Coaches

Professionals running group rooms and sessions. One-on-one work is bought separately through Joynr, then scheduled with the coach.

A job board people built

Crowdsourced by members. Whoever posts a role says how they’re connected to it, so you know who to ask before you apply.

Start here, free

Information should be free to consume.

Guides, templates and checklists for the parts of a career you have to get through. The entire library, free. No account, no email address, nothing to cancel.

Refreshed regularly, so come back for the latest version. Take what you need and send it to anybody who needs it.

Why Joynr exists

I built the thing I needed and couldn’t find.

Three layoffs in a career spanning twenty-five years. No hard feelings toward any of them. Layoffs are a normal part of a career.

Every time, I worked it out alone and slowly. I made mistakes that somebody who had already been through it could have saved me from in ten minutes.

I spent twenty-five years in InfoSec leadership, a lot of it mentoring people through these kinds of workforce events. One person at a time. It works, but it doesn’t scale the part that really matters. The people.

This is your community. Joynr is just the steward of it. I heard the frustration and the complaints, and decided it was time to fix it. Joynr is clay, and we can mold it into whatever we want. Come join me.

Proof, when there is some

There are no member stories on this page yet.

That’s on purpose.

Joynr opens with about twenty founding members, invited directly. Nothing has happened here yet, so there’s nothing honest to put in this space.

When there is, it goes here: real moments in members’ own words, not testimonials written by us.

A few promises

What you can hold us to.

You choose who’s in your corner.

Meet your peers in the forums and group chat. Find a buddy in the buddy room. Talk to a mentor, or work with a coach. You’ll find your people here.

Your information is not for sale.

No advertisers, no data brokers, no lead lists, no promoted posts. Memberships fund Joynr, which pays for new features and keeps your name off a sales list.

Privacy is yours to control.

Your email is hidden by default, and nobody can message you until you’ve connected. You’re listed in the member directory so your people can find you, and you can hide yourself with one click. Joynr’s own news emails are on by default, and you control all your notifications.

The library stays free.

Existing guides are reviewed on a schedule, and new ones keep coming. Tell us what guide you could use, and we’ll build it.

Grandfathered pricing.

The price you join at is your price for that membership, for as long as you keep it. Features get added and your price doesn’t move. Change your membership and you pay the current price for the new one.

You get to shape this.

Joynr is being built in the open, so members can see what’s coming and have a say in it. Ask for something, and once it’s approved, it goes in the queue.

Joynr AI knows what we know.

Ask a workforce question and get an answer built from what members have discussed in Joynr’s public rooms. Private messages and rooms are excluded from AI and stay private. And our AI stays ours. It never trains anybody else’s model.

One more thing

Members are our life.

See something missing? Need something that isn’t here yet? Had an idea nobody else has? Ask any staff member on the inside, or email us before you’ve even joined.

Joynr runs on new ideas. The whole thing is clay. Tell us what you need built, and we’ll get on it!

When the doors open

Come find your people.

The guides are yours right now, free, with no account. If you want to be the first to know when it launches, leave your email.

Only messages about Joynr’s launch go to this group. It’s not used for marketing or advertising. No list to escape from later.

Want in before everyone else?

There’s a shorter list. Early access opens ahead of the general doors, for people who really want to be here first. Different list, different message, sent earlier.

Same promise. One message, when early access opens.
